Town sign Jevons...
Grimsby Town have signed young Everton striker Phil Jevons for 150k rising to 250k depending on appearences.

Jevons revealed how it wasn't a hard decision to make and he is looking forward to first team football, "I played nine times for the first team at Everton, eight in the Premiership and once in the Worthington Cup, but in general Walter Smith preferred experienced players and I knew that if I stayed, it would be reserve team football again. As I said, as soon as I knew that Grimsby were offering the chance to play first team football, there was never any doubt what I wanted to do", said Jevons.

Jevons is the sort of player that town fans have wanted to see at Blundell Park and he will hopefully be the player to bring the goals that Town have badly needed over the past couple of seasons.

Jevons(continued)
'Smirn', an Everton fan had this to say about Jevons, "He's never managed to really break into the first team, even after all the
injury problems we've had. Part of that is cetainly due to our incompetent
manager, but I would suspect that it is also due to certain alleged recreational
habits of his. I also happen to know he's a little weasel who can't fight his
own private battles. Don't be getting too excited, even if he scores a few. As
I understand it, he's likely to score a few. If you know what I mean".

Fingers crossed...
