New home kit
  New kit...
Towns new kit is now available at the club shop. A different design to previous years but a very nice shirt. One down side being the v-nec collar. The new away shirt has also been released.

Campbell signs
Stuart Campbell today put pen to paper on a 3 year deal which will keep him at the club until 2004.

He became a fans favourite last season with a string of good performances and a couple of goals. He also picked up a couple of awards at this years 'Player of the year Evening'.

With Donovan leaving Campbell looks set to play next season down the right wing with Lennie hoping to bring in a left sided midfielder.

Danny Butterfied also signed another 1 year extension on his current contract after rumours that a number of 'bigger' clubs were looking at the young defender

Lennie's Danish raid
LENNIE LAWRENCE today qaushed rumours that Grimsby Town are interested in signing former FC Copenhagen striker Claus Nielsen, although he did admit that he is eyeing "one or two" Danish targets.
Local press speculation had linked him with a move for the 23-year-old who was unfortunately forced to retire from the game in January 2001 after unsuccessfully undergoing triple surgery on a persistent back problem.

Speaking to planetfootball.com, Lawrence explained: "We took David Nielsen on-loan from Copenhagen last season and (FC Copenhagen manager) Roy Hodgson's a close personal friend of mine - that's where it will have come from.

"I went over to watch a game a couple of weeks ago and we do have an interest in a few young Danish players including one or two of Copenhagen's.

"Obviously we're not going to be able to get their first-choice players though, and to be honest it's too early to be naming names."
